Global Game Jam and Other News

Members from Gendai Games will be participating in the Global Game Jam in Austin. Check the site to see if there’s an event in your city. There may still be time to sign up!

In other news, GameSalad alpha has been used in a day long workshop in game development for the Austin School of Film, and for an introductory, interdisciplinary class on game development at the University of Texas!

Finally, Gendai Games is preparing for the upcoming South By Southwest Interactive conference in March here in Austin. We plan to unveil some excitement during the conference, so stay tuned!

Undoubtably when using GameSalad, you will want to create some original game graphics. If you don’t have the time to learn the non-Mac-standard interface of the Gimp (free image editor) or don’t have the need or money for Photoshop, we suggest you check out Pixen, available for free from the Open Sword web site. Of course, if you find it useful, you should definitely support their donation-ware model!
