GameSalad lets me make the games I've had bouncing about in my head for years and years. It's great to get them out in the open so easily, and watch them take on a life of their own.quantumsheep
Sure I could pay hundreds of dollars & spend hundreds of hours to learn how to program & then spend months on developing an iphone game, but why? GameSalad lets me do it all now.JGary321

1 Join the GameSalad Membership Program

The first step to getting your game on the iPhone is to become a member of the GameSalad Membership Program. As a member you will get access to GameSalad Viewer, an iPhone app that connects with GameSalad Creator to play your game on the device. Most importantly, members can access the GameSalad submission system: the method by which a GameSalad game is converted into an Xcode project that is ready to submit to the App Store. To join, visit the GameSalad Membership Program page.

2 Develop and test

Once you've joined the GameSalad Membership Program, you will receive a link to download GameSalad Viewer for iPhone, an app which is used to help test your game, along with instructions for loading it onto your device. You must be an iPhone Developer to install the Viewer app onto your device. With GameSalad Creator and Viewer, you possess the tools necessary to create your own iPhone game. From there, simply continue developing and refining your game until you are ready to continue to the next step.

3 Export your iPhone game

In order to create an Xcode version of your GameSalad- made iPhone game, you will need to submit it through the GameSalad submission system. This is an online tool where you provide the information required to create the Xcode compatible build such as the app name and the 57x57 icon. Once submitted, your game will be compiled so the game and the required data are merged into a format that can be used to prepare for submission to the iPhone App Store. After this is complete, you will receive a download link that contains your game bundle.

4 Prepare your game

After your game bundle is downloaded, there is still a little more preparation that is required to make your game completely ready to submit: signing your application. As a registered Apple Developer, you will have access to Apple's Developer Program Portal from which you can create and download provisioning profiles with which to sign your game. Among the different types of provisioning profiles are ad-hoc profiles and distribution profiles. If you sign your game project with an ad hoc profile, you can then distribute it to other friends and family for testing without having to go through the App Store. If you signed with a distribution profile, then your app is ready to be submitted to Apple.

5 Submit to Apple...

At this point, your game is ready to upload to Apple. In order to successfully submit an app, you will need to follow Apple's own submission guidelines and provide information that is required per app. Apple's submission approval times vary by app, so be patient if it takes a little longer than expected. More information can be found in the developer user guide: Program Portal User Guide (Available to registered developers only)

6 Profit!

Once your game has passed Apple's approval system, your game is now on the App Store. Congratulations! You keep 100% of the royalties for your games. What's better is that as a member of GameSalad, you can publish as many games as you like!
