Thanks to everyone who participated in the first of our two GameSalad Game Jams. We had a great turnout, with 260 entries for Jam Number One, and wanted to announce the winners before the Thanksgiving holidays.
Best of Show Winners
First up, the Best of Show winners for the Jam: these games all kept with the theme of “Soaring to New Heights” and were all a lot of fun to play! Each of the three winners will be receiving one year of GameSalad PRO!
It was a tough contest, but the winner was BigDave’s “Human Harvest!” With a tasty soundtrack, a simple-but-addictive core gameplay loop and a great level-up system, everyone loved this one.
2nd place went to the gorgeous, frantic geometric dazzler, Astro Blocks. Avoiding (and shooting) geometric shapes never looked so good! A very polished effort from JHPG that had all of us hooked.
3rd place went to the quirky, gorgeous Spin Hawk, Monster Robot’s unique take on the ‘flappy’ genre. Many of the judges found this game hypnotic but at press time, few of us had yet mastered the hawk’s flight pattern 🙂
